El zoológico Leslie Pantin se dedica a la conservación del caimán del Orinoco, especie propia de los llanos de Venezuela y Colombia, como parte de un ambicioso programa para salvar de la extinción a este enorme depredador.
Conservationist Federico Pantin and his wife Tuenade Hernandez try to help preserve the endangered species by breeding them at their Leslie Pantin zoo in the northern state of Aragua.
"We do a part... to raise the animals and then release them, but after that it no longer depends on us, there has to be protection of these animals, surveillance, control, there has to be environmental education," Pantin told AFP.
