The west end’s Thornwood Avenue community has expressed their anger as almost every car on the street was vandalised.

Affected residents took to social media to share their experience as cars were signed or drawn on with white paint.

While victims did not the paint appears to scratch off easily, officers said enquiries into the matter are ongoing.

Next up, Sauchiehall Street’s Savoy nightclub is set to undergo a £500,000 refurbishment.

The huge makeover will see the iconic sticky carpet be stripped from the venue, a completely new layout and more modern decor.

It will be closed for a week while works are underway, though the club is hosting one last bank holiday party to celebrate.

And in other news, Glasgow City Council has called on the Scottish Government to grant them tougher powers against fly tippers.

A senior councillor has written to the First Minister asking for the power to increase fines they are able to impose and more detergents for repeat offenders.
