Wrexham has ended their 15-year stint in the fifth tier by securing their promotion to the Football League after a 3-1 victory against Boreham Wood at The Racecourse Ground on Saturday evening.
Following a record-breaking season, Wrexham required just one more win to clinch the National League title and secure promotion. However, they got off to a rocky start when Boreham Wood scored within the first 60 seconds. But Elliot Lee quickly leveled the score within 14 minutes, putting Wrexham back on track.
The second half belonged to their star striker, Paul Mullin, who scored an impressive brace, earning all three points and securing the National League title. After a lengthy absence, Wrexham is now back in the EFL, and their Hollywood owners were, as usual, present for the special occasion.
Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, along with some famous faces, including actor Paul Rudd, were spotted attending pubs in the local area to celebrate with the team of heroes. Now, the trio and their team will enjoy a massive celebration.
