It’s not everyday astronomers discover a new exoplanet, but recently that’s exactly what happened as the Gaia spacecraft was bulleting around the galaxy. Gaia is currently orbiting the solar system from the Legrangian point, or the same zone where the new James Webb Space telescope also calls home. But it recently noticed something odd while mapping the milky way, they detected a change in the way a star was behaving, prompting them to look a bit closer.
