The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry has advised Ramadan bazaar operators to ensure that they adhere to the regulations set by the government in terms of food quality.
Its minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub told reporters at a press conference at the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (April 4), and said consumers could file complaints about Ramadan bazaar operators through the ministry’s official channels, but reiterated that only the Health Ministry will have the power to take action against sellers that were found to be serving low quality food.
He also said survey conducted by the ministry shows that the majority of main Ramadan bazaar operators nationwide have recorded an increase in profit.
