Two car thieves have been jailed for stealing 59 Ford Fiestas in the West Midlands. The pair used transmitter devices to get into vehicles at train station car parks. Kaine Guest Scott and Theon Lynch were sentenced to four years and one month, and three years retrospectively.

A man was set on fire while walking home from a mosque in Birmingham on Monday evening. Police said that the attacker spoke to the victim briefly before spraying him with an unknown substance. Extra officers will be in the area today to provide reassurance.

The Levelling Up Secretary, Michael Gove, and Mayor Andy Street have signed a landmark deeper devolution deal for the West Midlands. The deal confirmed on Monday deepens existing powers which, the government says, have already delivered significant wins for the region.
