The name of the man who died as a result of a gas explosion in Swansea has been named as 68 year old Brian Davies. Three others were injured during the incident, including a 14 year old boy, but two of them have since been discharged from hospital. The cause of the explosion is not yet known.
Thousands of public sector workers are on strike throughout Wales in a dispute over pay, conditions and pensions. Members of the PCS union walked out on Wednesday, and includes staff at Welsh government buildings as well as other public institutions like the national museums. Stormzy and Dua Lipa have been named as some of the stars who will appear at the Hay Festival later on this year. The pair are just some of the big names who will attend the literary festival, along with Helena Bonham Carter, Sadiq Khan and the Proclaimers.
