The Arlington Renegades used a fourth-quarter touchdown to edge the Orlando Guardians, 10-9, on Sunday at Choctaw Stadium. QB Kyle Sloter, making his first start of the season, connected with WR Tyler Vaughns for a 17-yard score to tie the game at 9-9 with 7:58 remaining before RB De’Veon Smith punched in a go-ahead extra point try. LB Edmond Robinson forced a fumble in the first quarter that was recovered by LB Donald Payne, and NT Josiah Coatney recovered another fumble late in the second quarter. The Guardians scored their only touchdown on a 3-yard rush by QB Paxton Lynch on the first play of the fourth quarter, but the Renegades stopped the extra-point try to keep the game within reach.
