On February 26, 2023, at least 12 tornadoes touched down in Oklahoma, leaving thousands of residents without electricity and many with storm damage. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported seven possible tornadoes in Shawnee, McLoud, Goldsby, Mustang, Pocasset, Lone Wolf, and Hollis. Damage assessments were being done on February 27 to determine if the number of tornadoes could rise. If confirmed by the National Weather Service, the number of tornadoes could be a record for the month of February in Oklahoma.
