Nipsey Hussle’s Killer Sentenced , to 60 Years to Life in Prison.
Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed outside his clothing store, the Marathon, in 2019.
Eric R. Holder Jr. was found guilty of first-degree murder of the rapper in July 2022.
Associated Press reports that on Feb. 22, Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke II sentenced Holder to 60 years to life in prison.
The sentence includes 25 years to life for murder,
25 years for firearms sentencing enhancement
and 10 years for assault with a firearm.
During the monthlong trial, Aaron Jansen, Holder's attorney, pointed to his client's "years of torment and struggle" as he suffered "a terrible descent into mental illness.".
The judge said he took that into account
when handing down his sentence.
I am very mindful of what was
presented as to Mr. Holder’s mental health.
I am also mindful of the devastation
caused to the victims and their families.
