Rishi Sunak has refused to be drawn on calls for the government to match donations to the DEC's earthquake appeal for Turkey and Syria - after members of the public pledged more than £50m to the appeal. Speaking on a visit to a cancer diagnosis centre in Oldham, the prime minister insisted the UK government was providing financial aid and other support to both countries.
