Students from Great Walstead School sang 'Shalom Chaverim' at Haywards Heath Town Hall this afternoon (Friday, January 27).
Both Burgess Hill Town Council and Haywards Heath Town Council held services for Holocaust Memorial Day 2023.
A multi-faith service was held at the War Memorial Gardens in Burgess Hill, with representatives from Amnesty International, Brighton and Hove Progressive Synagogue, Burgess Hill Mosque, St John the Evangelist, Burgess Hill Girls and Burgess Hill Academy reading during the service.
In Haywards Heath, the Holocaust memorial service featured representatives from Amnesty International, religious representatives and councillors, as well as readings, songs and prayers of remembrance and peace. There was also an art display, which was a collaboration between Oathall Community College and Great Walstead School.
Both events featured a presentation by Lesley Urbach from Generation 2 Generation.
A full report and photos will be in the Mid Sussex Times next week.
