Roma Players Serenade Jose Mourinho with a Rendition of 'Happy Birthday' as He Celebrates His 60th

Jose Mourinho was treated to a rendition of 'Happy Birthday' from his Roma squad on Thursday, to celebrate the Portuguese manager's 60th birthday.

Mourinho was serenaded by the assembled Roma side in their dressing room, accompanied by numerous members of his backroom staff, and was given a cake to mark the occasion.

But despite the festivities, his side could be set for a major blow with Nicolo Zaniolo reportedly keen on a move to rivals AC Milan, although the Giallorossi are still unbeaten in 2023.

Roma was quick to celebrate the Special One's special day, posting a video in tribute to the iconic boss on their Twitter account on Thursday morning.

But in the afternoon, the Portuguese legend was treated to a rendition of 'Happy Birthday' from his playing squad and backroom staff.

The ex-Chelsea and Real Madrid manager was filmed entering the dressing room with a look of near irritation on his face as he realized what was afoot.

He then made his way into the center of the changing room to blow the candles out on a cake that had been given to him, before awkwardly waving to the room as they applauded him.

The players were then caught on camera singing for Mourinho and clapping along, with the 60-year-old standing by the door soaking up the attention.

Mourinho then looks at his watch before saying 'Andiamo', which means 'let's go', and seemed keen to exit, before eventually cutting the cake in the middle of the room.

He then cut a small slice and gave it to Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, before speaking briefly to his players and making an exit, waving his hand to signal for his side to follow him.

When his players called for him to make a speech, he simply said: 'What speech? Let’s go to work, we have a game on Sunday, come on.'

He presented Pellegrini with a slice of cake in a repeat of his antics on his 59th birthday, but this time he did so right in front of Zaniolo, who the manager barely even acknowledged after the Italian made his wish to leave public.

Zaniolo would appear to have joined Rick Karsdorp in Mourinho's bad graces after he was left out of the weekend trip to Spezia.
