A man has been charged with the murder of Elle Edwards, who was shot at a Merseyside pub on Christmas Eve. Connor Chapman, 22, of no fixed address appeared in court and was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court this Monday.
An inspection by the CQC found that Liverpool's The Hamlets care home, run by Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton, has seen a "significant deterioration" in care. The home, which serves 30 people with mental health needs, has been ordered to improve and had its rating downgraded from "good" to "inadequate" in November.
Colleagues paid tribute to Ben Lightburn, 31, an ambulance worker who died in a New Year's Day car crash on Blind Foot Road, Rainford, St Helens. Co-workers at NWAS described him as a "truly genuine, kind, and caring soul" who showed "immense care and compassion to all his patients."
