Elon Musk made the statement via Twitter on Dec. 21.
I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I

The announcement comes two days after Musk posted a poll on his Twitter account.

The Twitter poll drew in 17.5 million votes.
57 percent of the votes were in favor of Musk stepping down as CEO.
