Hundreds of people have been flocking to a historic cathedral for its annual Christmas tree festival featuring more than 80 festive firs. Magical photos show the dozens of decorated Christmas trees which have been placed throughout the medieval cloisters of Worcester Cathedral. They have been designed and decorated by a range of schools, businesses, charities and organisations throughout the city. Stunning photographs show the 84 innovatively designed trees, which will be on display at the 11th century Anglican cathedral until January 8 next year. Reverend canon Dr Stephen Edwards, vice-dean at Worcester Cathedral, said the event is 'hugely attractive' to the people of Worcester. He said: "It is still early days but we have had lots of visitors already. "It is always hugely attractive to people, it is very festive, very creative and appeals to young and old. It is fantastic. "People define the word tree in lots of different ways and they are all tree-shaped. "There are real trees, artificial trees and all sorts of other materials, especially lots of eco-themed trees which is lovely to see. "The creative style is incredible, people have great imaginations." The cathedral is open every day over the festive period except Christmas Day and booking for the event is not required.
