The Catalan Football Federation (FCF) - (in Catalan and officially: Federació Catalana de Futbol) is the Royal Spanish Football Federation's territorial federation in Catalonia. It was in charge of organizing the Catalan Football Championship from its inception until 1940. It currently organizes the Catalonia Cup, as well as all categories from the Third Division and the regional soccer team. It has also hosted the Catalunya International Trophy since 2009.
The Football Association, the first football federation of Catalonia and Spain, was founded on November 11, 1900, as the embryo of the Catalan Federation. Eduard Alesson was the president, and members included FC Barcelona, Hispània, Català, and RCD Espayol. This foundation, in any case, did not emerge.
The Association of Football Clubs of Catalonia was founded in 2001, led by Gramenet and Hospitalet, with the mission of favoring modest and grassroots teams.
