MMDA DEFENDS FIBER-OPTIC PROJECT
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Acting Chairman Romando Artes, in a briefing on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022 answers Northern Samar Rep. Paul Daza who called for an immediate investigation into a P1.1 billion NCR Fiber-Optic Backbone Development project by the MMDA. Daza, senior deputy minority leader, said in a privilege speech on Wednesday, November 23, that the funds were originally part of the P12 billion allocated by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for 105,000 free public Wi-Fi hotspots.
