For the first time in fifty years, NASA has successfully launched a spacecraft to the moon as the Orion spacecraft circled the far side of the lunar surface. When it reaches its maximum distance from Earth of over 433,000 kilometers, Orion is anticipated to break NASA's distance record for a spacecraft created by men.
