At least two bars in Birmingham will be boycotting the World Cup in response to Qatar's anti-LGBT laws.The Village Inn and The Loft in the Gay Village will not be shooting matches, and the Hare and Hounds will be donating some of their takings to LGBTQ+ groups.

A violent Birmingham street drinker has been jailed after attacking a man with a can of cider. Mark Jack stopped a 65 year old man in the street asking for money. Upon refusal, Jack threw a can of cider at his face and began attacking him. He was jailed at Birmingham Crown Court for 12 years.

A man has been charged after more than 60 cars were stolen in six months. The 22 year old was arrested following work by West Midlands Police's new Vehicle Crime Taskforce. The cars were stolen from Train Station car parks in the Birmingham and Sandwell areas
