Birmingham headlines 16 November: Record number of NHS medical negligence pay outs
This last year has seen record levels of payouts from NHS trusts in Birmingham due to medical negligence. Across England £2.4 billion has been paid out - and a third of payments are related to maternity claims. Across the West Midlands Trusts there were 246 successful claims.
West Midlands mayor Andy Street is currently in Bangladesh and visiting India for a week of trade talks. The mayor flew to Dhaka from Delhi to promote opportunities for bilateral trade and investment. More than 1 in 10 in the West Midlands is of Bangladeshi heritage, and the UK is it's third biggest trading partner.
The England squad will soon land in Qatar after jetting off Monday morning from Birmingham airport. Their journey comes five days after the official 26 man squad was announce by Gareth Southgate who led his players onto the plane.
