In a tragic incident, more than 130 people died after a bridge collapsed in Morbi, Gujarat on October 30 evening. Reportedly, 177 people have been rescued so far by the authorities and search operation is underway for many others. Nearly 500 people had gathered to perform for Chhath puja. Harsh Sanghavi, Gujarat Home Minister, in a press briefing said that a criminal case has been registered. PM Modi tweeted in Gujarati, “I am deeply saddened by the tragedy at Morbi.” Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed grief. Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “I appeal to all Congress workers to extend all possible help to the injured persons in the accident and help in the search of missing people.” Watch the video to know more.
