HMS Prince of Wales prepares to dock at Rosyth for repair to the starboard propeller
Damaged Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales has arrived in Fife for repairs following a number of delays
"Returning to our birthplace... the fastest and safest way to be repaired and returned to carrier operations," HMS Prince of Wales said.
Ship tracker website MarineTraffic shows HMS Prince of Wales anchored off Rosyth.
The £3.2bn vessel was originally due to set sail for Scotland last Monday but following a string of delays caused by technical problems, she did not leave Portsmouth until about 11pm on Friday.
The warship broke down off the Isle of Wight in August after leaving her home base to take part in flight trials and diplomatic visits in the US.
Inspections by divers and engineers found that the NATO flagship's 33-ton starboard propeller – the same weight as 30 Ford Fiesta cars – had malfunctioned with a coupling holding it in place breaking.
