Two Shire horses take Queen’s flowers away for composting

2022-09-26 511

Flowers left in London’s Green Park for Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II are in the process of being removed and composted. The bouquets are being transported by two Shire horses - Heath and Nobby - both senior greys aged 17 and 14 years respectively, standing at 18.3 hands. They are taking the flowers to the Leaf Pen in Kensington Gardens where the flowers will be blended with leaf litter and other green waste, to be composted and turned into mulch. Heath and Nobby are the same horses that appeared at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May. Report by Jonesia.
