EasyJet was forced to cancel flights between London Gatwick and Montpellier in the south of France after a cargo plane overshot the runway and ended up nose-down in a lake adjacent to the airport. The airport on the Mediterranean coast has been closed until further notice. Rescuers pulled three people out of the Boeing 737. They were unharmed in the accident, which took place before dawn today. An investigation is underway and the airport is shut indefinitely, authorities confirmed. The West Atlantic plane had travelled from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Montpellier in the early hours today, arriving shortly before 3am.
