Gerwyn Price beat Dirk van Duijvenbode in a tense match in the Dutchman's country, with Price shooting a death glare at a rowdy fan after retiring.

Gerwyn Price silenced a raucous home crowd on Sunday night when he beat Dirk van Duijvenbode 11-10 in Amsterdam in a thrilling matchup.

The Iceman lived up to the nickname for him, as he kept his cool throughout the clash to claim the World Series of Darts. But after reviewing one to move to 9-8, Price shot a 'death glare' at a member of the crowd.

As Price picked up his darts from the board, he didn't break eye contact with the eighth fan. The Welshman had won it the hard way, only dispatching Van Duijvenbode in a decisive stretch at AFAS Live.

Price said after his victory: “I'm not there yet, but I'm going in the right direction and there are more big tournaments coming up. I knew it was going to be a tough battle with the crowd supporting Dirk, but I dug in to the end and got over the line."

While Van Duijvenbode admitted that he was carried away by the occasion.

It is the second time the 37-year-old has taken the title, after claiming his first win during the 2020 edition.

That season, Price had beaten Rob Cross 11-9 in the final at the Salzburgarena in Salzburg, Austria.
