No special treatment is being accorded to former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak who is undergoing 12 years’ imprisonment at the Kajang prison in Selangor, a report has said.
Utusan Malaysia quoted a source saying that apart from being placed in an isolation cell to ensure his safety as a high-profile inmate, the Pekan MP is being treated like any other prisoner under Regulation 8 of the Prisons Act 2000.
Tthe daily also spoke to another source close to Najib, who confirmed the former finance minister has to bathe in cold water in his cell, which only has a single fan installed.
