A mother claimed "lies” have been told and it looked like the man shot dead by police last night was killed at the scene - and did not die on his way to hospital. The neighbour said the dead man, named today (Tues) as Chris Kaba, was shot dead at the scene in Streatham, south west London, and the ambulance took 20 minutes to arrive. But she claimed when the ambulance arrived, then drove off without blue lights or sirens on, leading her to believe he was already dead. Before the shot, there were three police cars and a helicopter surrounding the blue Audi, before everything reportedly fell silent when he was blasted through his front windscreen, she said. The woman described the traumatic distress of her eight-year-old daughter who couldn’t fall asleep after the dramatic events unfolded outside their home and asked "is that man dead?". She added: “I was putting my daughter to bed, I was having difficulties getting her to sleep. That must have been about 9.30pm, or just after it, maybe 9.45pm. “Then suddenly I heard car screeches, then it stopped and I heard there’s lots of police and I hear 'get out the car, get out the car'. Then there was one single shot. “There was one black undercover vehicle, a police car next to the undercover vehicle, then another police car, then a helicopter. “So it was heavily policed, there were quite a few police that were there. “It was terrifying, because I was with my eight-year-old daughter. We can see everything from my windows because they’re massive, even when the curtains are closed there’s still a gap open. “I thought what the hell is this, has somebody been shot? “So I tried to get my video recorder out so I could see. Then I saw the police had gone more on the road. “But after that shot it was quiet, there weren't heavy police sirens or anything like that, it was silent, as you can see in the video. “The ambulance came 20 minutes after. They took out this white stretcher. “And obviously they said in this news article that the guy died on his way to the hospital, but that isn’t the case. That is a God damned lie. He was dead on the scene. “The ambulance people, the paramedics, came out with gas mask-looking things [oxygen masks]. “They went onto the road, where the guy was, and they were there for quite a while. And they brought the body back into the ambulance but it was guarded by a lot of police and people, that’s what I’ve got footage off. “Even when the ambulance drove off there was no siren or nothing, they just drove off - so the guy was dead, whatever story they want to tell that’s a lie. “He didn’t die on the way there, there wasn’t an air ambulance, they didn’t lift him or anything. They literally took his carcass, his body, into the ambulance. “My daughter was really frightened, because she’s got additional needs. She was really frightened by the gunshot, she was saying 'is that man dead'. “Even today going into school it was traumatic, even one-to-one teacher told me she relayed the whole story. “She couldn’t get to sleep after that. That’s when it started getting busy after it happened.” The mother, who did not want to be named, said the victim was a local man, and a good friend of people involved in the music scene
