Former Sydney school teacher Chris Dawson has been found guilty of the murder of his first wife forty years after she vanished from the city's northern beaches. In a marathon five-hour judgement supreme court Justice Ian Harrison found Mr Dawson killed his wife to pursue his relationship with the family's teenage babysitter. The defence's argument Lynette Dawson may have abandoned her family was dismissed by Justice Harrison as no more than speculation. The supreme court justice finding a conscious act on Mr Dawson’s behalf led to his wife's death.
