Cameras aboard the International Space Station captured a life-or-death moment on August 17, 2022, for a Russian cosmonaut during what started as a routine spacewalk. Voltage fluctuations damaged the spacesuit worn by Oleg Artemyev as he and another astronaut were booting up the European Robotic Arm. They were supposed to spend about 6.5 hours outside the space station, but the incident forced Artemyev and his colleague to abort their spacewalk and return to the airlock and safety.
