A couple thousand workers heeded the call of their various trade unions and took to the streets of Port of Spain on Friday.
The peaceful march was held to signal an absolute refusal of the 4 percent wage increase offered to public servants.
Labelling the event 'a success', the Joint Trade Union Movement is hinting at a shutdown as another plan to getting the plight of workers heard.
