The Kakori incident, one of the biggest events of the Indian freedom struggle, was carried out by the revolutionaries in 1925. The money from the Treasury of the British government was going on the train going from Shahjahanpur to Lucknow. Many revolutionaries along with Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ulla Khan, and Chandra Shekhar Azad robbed the train in Kakori.
