Russian shelling has hit a hotel in the eastern city of Bakhmut, killing at least five people. Russia has also launched missile strikes on the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions for the first time in weeks. Meanwhile Ukrainian forces are stepping up their efforts to retake Kherson - the southern city fell to Russian forces in the early days of the invasion
