The Ministry of Health is in search of at least 20,000 people to become blood donors, as part of its newly-launched Non-Remunerated Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign. Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh says the Ministry intends to gradually phase out the existing chit system, which he described as unreliable, inequitable and dangerous.
