On June 13, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram suffered a fracture in his rib after he was pushed by the police during the party's protest in Delhi. P Chidambaram was among the several leaders who protested as Rahul Gandhi headed towards the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office for questioning in an alleged money laundering case linked to the National Herald newspaper. The former Finance Minister of India tweeted, “When three big, burly policemen crash into you, you are lucky to get away with a suspected hairline crack!” KC Venugopal, senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP, was also manhandled by the Delhi Police. Several leaders were detained by the Delhi police as they denied permission to the Congress party workers for the protest march.
