On June 8, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that because of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the country had to face an embarrassing situation at the international level. CM Thackeray said the Gulf countries brought it down to its knees and was forced to apologise over the controversial remarks made by a BJP spokesperson on Prophet Mohammad.
