China is building a second bridge around the Pangong Tso lake near Ladakh. The development is seen as an effort by China to increase its military preparedness. The bridge would allow for quick mobilisation of the Chinese troops. The MEA maintained that India would continue to engage with China keeping in mind its diplomatic and defence strategies.
