Congress leader Navjot Sidhu has been sentenced to rigorous imprisonment by the Supreme Court in the 34-year-old road rage case. The court has changed its sentence of May 15, 2018 with a fine of one thousand rupees. A bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul gave this verdict. Earlier, the Supreme Court had sentenced the punishment for causing simple hurt, but the victim's family had filed a petition seeking enhancement of punishment under grievous hurt, not simple injury, in the road rage case.
