President Rodrigo Roa Duterte attends the launching of the Digital Innovation and Modernization of the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) at Liwasang Bonifacio in the City of Manila on May 19, 2022.
Upon arrival, the President passes through the 46 brand new vans acquired by PHLPost and listens to a briefing on the PHLPost’s digital innovations and modernization efforts that include the following: (1) Mobile App; (2) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) covering the digitalization of the entire organization to include the new website, Mail Management System (MMS) — with an automated letter sorting machine that can process 40,000 mails per hour — Corporate Financial Management Information System (CFMIS), Financial Counter System (FCS), Human Resource Information System; and (3) cutting edge Postal Card with advanced financial features.
The Chief Executive further checks the Command Center that monitors real-time Post Office operations. These changes in PHLPost form part of President Duterte’s goal to expedite the delivery of government services to Filipinos as embodied in Republic Act No. 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
PHLPost is a Government-Owned and Controlled Corporation (GOCC) under the Office of the President (OP) tasked to mainly provide postal services and deliveries in the Philippines as well as to other nations.
