Schutt began began playing with the Paul Specht Orchestra. Throughout the 20's he worked with numerous bands including the Roger Wolfe Kahn Orchestra. He appeared on many records with jazz greats such as Bix Beiderbecke, Red Nichols, Frankie Trumbauer, Joe Venuti and Benny Goodman. In the 30's, Schutt led his own band in New York. In the 40's-50's he worked as a studio musician at MGM in Hollywood. This lovely record was made in 1930. Great vocal by Smith Ballew.
