US Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, has described the death of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh as "really horrifying" and called for a transparent investigation.
The Al Jazeera journalist was shot dead by Israeli forces while reporting in Jenin in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday (May 11).
