Eligible Bristol residents will begin receiving a £150 council tax rebate in the coming weeks. This forms part of the government’s initiative to help households with rising energy costs. The scheme provides the one-off payment to most households in council tax bands A to D.

And Bristolians have voted against having a directly-elected mayor to run the city. The referendum saw over 56,000 people vote to scrap the current mayoral model, while nearly 38 and a half thousands voted to have an elected mayor.
