In 1972, the Philippines proclaimed Fernando Cueto Amorsolo as the first recipient of the Philippines Order of National Artists in Visual Arts.
To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the enduring legacy of the "Grand Old Man of Philippine Art", Leslie Leshen Araujo and his Lego local user group PinoyLUG, recreated some of Amorsolo’s timeless artworks which became Project AMORsolo.
