Though the mandate went into effect
on April 18, the city's Board of Health
voted to rescind it by April 21.
Instead of a mandate, the city will now be "strongly recommending" citizens wear
masks in indoor public spaces.
Though coronavirus cases have remained relatively stagnant recently, half of the country is experiencing upward trends.

and Prevention (CDC), the city of Philadelphia's
COVID-19 community level is low.
