A contractor had accused Karnataka Minister KS Eshwarappa's associates of demanding a 40 per cent commission for a contract. On April 12 morning, the contractor was found dead at a private lodge in Udupi, reported NDTV. Santosh Patil, reportedly sent messages to the media and his friends on April 12, saying that he was going to end his life, reported NDTV. Patil alleged that Minister KS Eshwarappa was responsible for his death, reported NDTV. Rahul Gandhi, Senior Congress Leader, slammed the BJP. He accused PM Modi and the Karnataka CM of being complicit, saying that the Patil's pleas to them went unanswered.
