The latest National Census has revealed that the population percentage of senior citizens has increased significantly in the past two decades. There had been a steady annual increase of about 3-4% from the 70s until the year 2000 -- then it suddenly spiked to 6.8% in 2020. By 2030, there will be an estimated 4.5 million Malaysians who will be above 60. Are policies in place to cope with this eventuality?
