Heavy rainfall lashing large parts of central and southern new south wales is predicted to continue until at least Friday.

The bureau of meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for Sydney, the Illawarra, South Coast and parts of the hunter, central tablelands and southern tablelands. Miriam Bradbury from the Bureau of Meteorology says the amount of rain is significant.
