This is the moment concerned beachgoers ran for cover as a waterspout turned into a tornado at a Florida beach resort.
The weather took a turn for the worst on Saturday afternoon (14/03) at Fort Myers Beach in southwest Florida causing a weak tornado to mount the shores.
Several people who witnessed the tornado captured it on video as it hurtled towards them.
In the video dark clouds can be seen looming over the sky, before beachgoers are chased off the beach by the waterspout turned tornado.
The National Weather Service said the tornado had peak winds of around 65mph.
An eyewitness said: "The weather became really bad really quickly, and the next thing we saw was seawater hurtling towards us in a circler motion.
"Everyone panicked and made a run for it - it was quite scary.
"Thankfully the winds were relatively weak for a tornado or I fear we could have been in quite some trouble."
