This is the moment a Seattle police officer arrests a drug dealer armed with a handgun after riding his bicycle down some stairs at a bus station and chasing him after they spotted him selling drugs.

The incident took place in the city of Seattle, in King County, in the western US state of Washington, on Wednesday 15th December.

The footage was shared online by the Seattle Police Department, who said in a statement: "Police arrested a 23-year-old felon Wednesday around 3:30 PM for possession of a handgun after he led officers on a foot pursuit through the Pioneer Square bus tunnel."

The police said that they spotted the suspect selling drugs, adding: "Bike officers working in the area of 3rd Avenue and Yesler Way Wednesday afternoon spotted a man selling narcotics."

The police said: "The suspect dropped a stolen handgun and continued to flee with the officers in pursuit. Officers, wearing their bike shoes, chased the suspect through the bus tunnel and onto a back stairwell. There, the suspect, in a move reminiscent of Looney Tunes, attempted to bamboozle the officers by taking a seat on the stairs and directing them upward. The officers were not fooled."

The police said in the statement that the officers, who have not been named, took the suspect, who has not been named either, into custody without further incident and that the man was booked into King County Jail for firearms and narcotics charges.
