Sameer Wankhede, zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Maharashtra, is under fire after a key witness in the Cordelia cruise drugs haul case alleged that he was involved in an extortion bid of Rs 25 crore. On October 25, the NCB ordered a vigilance inquiry into the allegations made by the witness, Prabhakar Sail.
